Demons are outworld marauders, rarely seen outside their realm of Asura. In accordance with the Scrolls of World-Law, specifically the Law of Constant Resurrection, one who has murdered his kin or neighbor must serve five hundred years in the form of a demon, be it through one or several lifetimes. All demons of Asura are equal initially, but gain power by consuming the souls of other entities. Unlike when mortals resurrect in a mortal plane, those who resurrect in a lower or higher plane of existence maintain all the memories of their previous life (Law of Memorization). But unlike ghosts and devas, demons only maintain a fraction of those memories, and remember the rest as they increase in power and arrive toward the end of their lifespans.
